The secretly green breakfast smoothie
As you have probably noticed I am quite fond of smoothies and I usually have one 5 out of 7 days a week. For the past two weeks I have been starting my day with a smoothie for breakfast every single day and I have been loving it so much that don’t see it changing anytime soon. It is such a perfect and nutritious start to the day and I have been feeling so energized and surprisingly full. My favorite breakfast smoothie is this “secretly green” raspberry smoothie as it is not only super tasty and filling, but also packed with good fats, fibre, protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
The smoothie is full of spinach and avocado, but you can neither see it nor taste it, which is perfect if you are not quite used to green smoothies yet or if you want to serve it to someone who might not be too open to try a smoothie with greens in it. I have served it to friends and family members who would usually never drink a smoothie with anything green in it, but they absolutely love this one, so I promise it should be a big hit even with the more picky eaters. Haha I have been making this smoothie for my sister a couple of times to trick some extra greens and superfoods in her and she even drank it after she discovered what I put in it, yaasss success! ;)
1-2 handfuls of spinach
2 tablespoons goji berries
1.5 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon maca powder – optional * (I use this one – affiliate link)
Liquid stevia, adjust amounts to your liking
* You can leave it out or add hemp protein powder or superfoods like e.g. acai, baobab or wheatgrass instead.
