Fruit infused (detox) water

I already did a quick post on infused water here, but since it was mostly pictures I wanted to do another post to explain some of the benefits of infused water and why I absolutely love making it.

Infused water is a great alternative to soda as it is all healthy, has no added nasties and is close to being completely calorie free, but still has an amazing taste and is a lot more exciting than drinking plain water.

Personally I find that infused water helps me drink more water and stay hydrated throughout the day, which is very important as most people (myself included) struggle with drinking enough water. Drinking water has so many benefits for your health and is crucial for our well being – water can fx help flush the body of toxins, prevent headaches, boost brainpower, help with concentration and even aid weight loss.

Infused (detox) water

Infused water is super simple and quick to prepare as all you have to do is add your fruit and herbs of choice to the water (you can mash it up a little to bring out the flavors) and let I chill in the fridge for at least an hour before you serve it. The best part is that the fruit and herbs can be reused throughout the day – simply refill the jar, pitcher or whatever you’re using for your infused water and put it back into the fridge. It can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

The options are pretty much endless when it comes to fruit and herbs combinations for your infused water, which is another great thing – you can just use whatever you have available in your fridge and it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive if you stick with seasonal fruit and herbs. A simple combination like cucumber and lemon tastes amazing and has amazing health benefits as well. Lemons are full of vitamin c and antioxidants, they boost immunity, cleanse the liver and are good for weight loss. Cucumbers are packed with vitamin c and antioxidants as well and also act as an anti-inflammatory. Source.

Apart from all the health benefits the infused water also looks super cute and colourful – haha they sure do make great instagram snaps ;) And they’re also great when you’re having guest and want to offer them a healthy, zero calorie drink that still looks festive.
