Chocolate and peanut butter superfood dessert smoothie bowl
This beyond delicious chocolate and peanut butter smoothie is one of my go-to’s when I want a quick and easy dessert that is made with all healthy and nutritious ingredients. I absolutely love how it takes no time to whip up this bowl of chocolate/PB heaven and the best part is that it is made with ingredients that are a stable in my kitchen, so I know I am always able to make this when the dessert cravings kick in.
I love to fill my dessert smoothies with superfood goodies like hemp seeds, raw cacao powder, chia seeds and even greens like spinach to up the nutritional value. It is amazing how you can add so much healthy goodness to smoothies like this and yet it still tastes like a super indulgent dessert – haha if I had kids then this would definitely be a good way to trick some extra superfoods and greens into their diet without them knowing ;)
Ingredients – yields 1 large serving or 2 small ones:
2 frozen bananas, ripe with brown dots
1/3 – 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla powder
2 1/2 tablespoon raw cacao powder
1 1/2 tablespoon smooth peanut butter
1 tablespoon hemp seeds – optional
Your sweeter of choice – I used dates
Almond milk to blend
Toppings: Chopped dark chocolate (70% cacao), raw coconut chips, pomegranate and raspberries.
Simply add everything to a blender and pulse until smooth – only add just enough milk for it to blend easily, it should be nice and thick. Pour the smoothie into a bowl (or two) and add your toppings of choice, I topped mine with chopped dark chocolate (70% cacao), raw coconut chips, pomegranate and raspberries, so good! Enjoy :)
