Golden turmeric latte
This warming, immune boosting and absolutely delicious turmeric golden latte is one of my new go-to’s in this cold and gloomy winter weather. As you might have noticed I absolutely love adding turmeric to my juices and food for an extra boost + nutritional benefits and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate the little wonder root into my diet. I promise I will write a post all about turmeric soon, but until then let me just list a couple of the reasons why I try to incorporate more turmeric into my diet. Curcumin, which is the active ingredient in turmeric, has anti inflammatory properties, is a strong antioxidant and it can help prevent alliergies. Furthermore, studies have shown that turmeric potentially can help prevent alzheimers and dementia + it can even help repress the growth of cancerous cells. You see why I love this stuff so much right?

Even though it might sound a bit strange, then it is important to add a pinch of black pepper to the latte as it helps the body absorb the curcumin, I promise you will not be able to taste it!

Golden turmeric latte
Ingredients – 1 serving:
1 cup (about 250 ml) almond or oat milk
1 heaping tablespoon finely grated fresh turmeric or 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/6 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil – optional
A pinch of black pepper
A little honey or maple syrup to taste – optional

Simply add everything to a small saucepan and warm it gently – it shouldn’t boil at any point. Add the warm milk to a blender along with the rest of the ingredients and pulse until the latte is nice and frothy – I usually blend it for a minute or two. Make sure to taste it and adjust the amount of sweetener and spices to your liking. Serve right away, enjoy!
