Beet and cacao dessert smoothie with hidden greens
This pink beet/cacao smoothie is definitely one of the more special smoothie flavour combos I have shared with you guys, but it works surprisingly well and I love how you can add beet and spinach to an otherwise sweet (and super delicious) dessert smoothie to up your veggie intake for the day. The flavors from the beet and raspberry goes so well together and the added raw cacao powder and almond butter gives the smoothie a beyond delicious, creamy and indulgent dessert flavor, so good!

Ingredients – 1 large glass or 2 regular:
1 medium sized beet, raw or cooked
1-2 handfuls of spinach
1 ripe banana, preferably frozen
2 deciliter (equals 0.8 cup) frozen raspberries
2-3 tablespoons raw cacao powder*
1/3 teaspoon pure vanilla powder
2 deciliter (equals 0.8 cup) plantmilk
1-2 tablespoons almond butter
Your preferred sweetener to taste, I used honey
*regular cacao powder is fine as well, but you might need to adjust the amounts
Simply add everything to a blender and pulse until smooth. Taste it and add sweetener if needed. Serve right away, enjoy! ♥
Unless you have a highspeed blender, then I would not recommend using raw beet. You can steam, boil or bake the beet before adding it – or you can even juice it and add the juice instead.
