Lovely little things // Going back home, Halloween in Tivoli, my favorite new winter coat + more
Evening lovelies! It is time for another post in my ‘Lovely little things’ series, I hope you enjoy getting these little glimpses into my everyday life. For me these posts are the perfect opportunity to stop and appreciate those little things in life ♥
I know it has been quite a while since my last LLT post, but sometimes life just gets in the way. I have been sick for little over a week, which have set me back a lot and before that I went to visit my parents for a week and that certainly wasn’t the most effective week workwise either ;)
But life is good, I am finally feeling better and yesterday I had the most perfect day out with a good friend – much needed after a week on the couch!
∼ Where I grew up – Nature child in the wild ∼
There is nothing better than being surrounded by nature and fresh air in my comfy sweats, no makeup and messy hair ♥
Last week my sister and I went to visit my parents for the first time in ages. I always love going there and it is the one place where I feel completely at peace. I love being surrounded by nature, fresh air and complete silence. I wasn’t feeling 100% (and I got sick the day after we returned home), so I pretty much just spent the week relaxing with my family and the cats, going for long walks in the beautiful fall landscape, watching lots of tv (haha I miss having cable!), eating lots of good food and sleeping in. Just what I needed! ♥
∼ Going back home = lots of kitty cuddles ∼
∼ Ready for a colorful winter ∼
The weather is already starting to be cold enough to start wearing my new colorful coat (affiliate link), which I definitely have some mixed feelings about, I mean, I am not ready for this cold, but at the other hand I am super excited to finally wear my new coat! I am planning on going all in on colors and wear it with my light pink Rebecca Minkhoff bag (affiliate link) and knitted H&M hat ♥
∼ Messy work in progress ∼
So I am still working on decorating my livingroom and while it is a bit of a mess right now, then I actually kinda like the casual non-styled setup on my bookcases right now – I always overthink it when I get to the actual styling ;)
The bookcases were the last major thing that I was missing and I actually ended up choosing a super budget friendly solution. I will show them properly when I do an apartment tour, but I just thought I would tip you about these super affordable bookcases from IKEA. They are very minimalistic and depending on the styling and what color you choose them in, then I think they would suit most homes. You can even DIY them and spray paint the metal a gold or copper tone + add marble foil to the (non-glass) shelves for a fashionable look that is still super affordable.
∼ Fresh flowers and matcha lattes ∼
I finally added some fresh blooms to the apartment after almost two weeks without any. That might not seem like much, but fresh flowers is my favorite everyday luxury and I usually always have fresh flowers in at least one room of the apartment – when you work from home it is important to have something pretty to look at ♥
∼ The cutest smoothie with a meaningful purpose ∼
Earlier in the week I found the smoothie section of my local supermarket to be full of these beyond cute smoothies with tiny knitted hats and I just had to buy one! I already love to buy this particular smoothie when I am on the go and need a pick me up, but the adorable hat just made it even more irresistible, so cute! The best part is the idea behind it. The knitted hats are added to raise awareness of loneliness – especially among refugees, elders and those in hospices and the hospital – but it also helps raise funds as 2 DKK are donated to relevant non-profit organisations for every bottle with a knitted hat that are being sold.
And this is not in any way sponsored, I just love the initiative ♥

∼ Halloween in Tivoli ♥ ∼
“When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ’tis near Halloween.”
I am a biiit Halloween obsessed (as I have shared before), so every year I always try to visit Tivoli in October when they have decorated for Halloween. It is one of the few places in Denmark where you can really get into Halloween and feel the true spirit of Halloween as it isn’t really celebrated here.
I love walking around and looking at all the beautiful decorations (preferably with churros and a tea to-go in hand), it is a must see in both the day- and nighttime! Yesterday my friend Kamilla had invited me to a little Halloween Tivoli trip before we went to the movies to watch the chick flick Home Again. We walked around the park an took in all the beautiful sights while talking and catching up before settling in an American inspired diner for a big burger and more catching up.
We of course also had to stock up on handmade candy before we left Tivoli and I even bought my first little Christmas decorations – it’s a bit silly, but little things like this brings me so much joy and that is exactly what this post is about – find happiness in the little things in life ♥
