Homemade Christmas gifts – easy and budget friendly // Foodie edition
Good afternoon lovelies! Christmas is almost here and I am so excited! My sister and I have arrived at our parents’ place where we are going to spend our Christmas holiday and I just cannot wait to really get to relax and de-stress. I love spending time with my family and especially during Christmas where we usually watch Christmas movies in front of the fireplace, cuddle with the cats, bake lots of Christmas treats, play cards and bordgames, go for walks in the woods, eat lots of good food and just enjoy the company of each other and all of our Christmas traditions ❤︎
One of my personal Christmas traditions is to make homemade gifts for my family and friends to bring as host/hostess gifts or as extra (and more personal) christmas gifts in addition to the store-bought ones, but also just to bring as little surprises during december – I love to give unexpected gifts!
Homemade food gifts can be a little difficult though since they usually do not keep for long and some of them needs to be stored in the fridge, so keep that in mind when choosing what to make and when to make it. I usually make most of my gifts the day before I plan on giving them, but some of them are fine to make in advance – things like my peppermint hot chocolate mix, superfood sprinkle and herb salt can easily be made a week or more ahead.
There are so many options when it comes to homemade foodie gifts and it is all about finding the right thing for the right person, but I have a couple of go-to’s that always seems to be a big hit and that I make over and over every year:

Bliss balls, treats and delicious snacks
Another one of my favorite things to make for my family and friends are treats like bliss balls, cookies and dessert bars. Previously my chocolate hazelnut “nutella” balls have been my number one go-to as they are always a big hit when I have guests over and it is also one of the most popular recipes on the blog, but I am going to shake things up this year and give some new treats a try ♥
I have collected a bunch of my favorite recipes below that I think will be perfect to give as gifts, some of them are healthy ones while others are more indulgent so there should be something for everyone. I hope you will find the perfect recipe for your loved ones ♥

I like to use a bunch of different coatings to make my treats look even more festive, some are quite flavorful though, so try to match the flavors of the coatings with the flavor of the treats. For a green coating you can use chopped pistachios and green powders like matcha or spirulina. For the the pink coating you can use freeze dried berries that you give quick blend to turn it into powder or you can just buy it in powder form, I used raspberry for mine. For a light pink coating you can mix freeze dried berries and shredded coconut and give it a quick blend. For the white coating use shredded coconut. For the brown coating use raw cacao powder, chopped chocolate or cacao nibs. You can also coat your treats in chopped nuts, goji berries, chia seeds etc.
Homemade granola is another favourite of mine when it comes to homemade gifts. It is super easy to make, tastes absolutely amazing and it is usually a lot healthier than the store bought kinds + now you can customize it completely and make it with the receiver’s favourite ingredients and flavour combos in mind. This gift is perfect for those who loves to top their morning yoghurt, smoothie bowls etc. with granola, but do not have the time or simply do not know how to make make their own. I like to add a little card where I write the recipe, so that they can try to make it again on their own if they enjoyed the recipe.

This superfood sprinkle is one of my absolute favorites! It is beyond easy to make, tastes amazing and it makes a great gift for your health conscious loved ones. With this superfood mix you have a quick and easy, but super nutricious topping for smoothie bowls, yoghurts, salads etc.
To make the superfood sprinkle I simply mix things like chia seeds, goji berries, ground flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, raw coconut chips, acai powder, chopped pistachios, chopped almonds, finely chopped dried apricots, dried mulberries and cacao nibs – but you can use whatever you have on hand and you do not need all that, a mix of three things would work fine as well ♥
