I had actually planned to share the recipe for my favorite soothing tea with you today, but with the horrible outcome of the US election, then I think we could all use a comforting chocolate treat instead (..well except for those who actually voted for the guy). So I whipped up this delicious and super easy treat earlier today as I found it too hard to focus on the work I had planned. I think I am still a bit in shock after finding out about the result of the election this morning – though I know it might have been naive of me to not have seen it coming. Hi lovelies ❤︎ I am sorry that you had to wait so long for this recipe, I know I had promised to post it on Friday, but I ended up going to Roskilde Festival a couple of hours early, so I didn’t have the time to finish the post. Haha and on Saturday I was a bit hungover and insanely tired, so I decided to take the day off and eat candy in bed while binge-watching season 1 of Mr. Robot – have any of you seen it? It is SO good, I am obsessed with anything dark, anarchistic and postmodern (Fight Club is my favorite book), so this show is right up my alley and I love that Martin Wallström and Stephanie Corneliussen...

Homemade popsicles with banana/peanut butter/chocolate and peach/raspberry/apricot

Sponsored. This post is made in collaboration with Valio – taste which is offered completely lactose-free It has been pure bliss to not only have had the most amazing summer weather this past week, but also to be housesitting in the countryside with a lovely garden and lots of nature! We have definitely made the most of it, haha which is evident by our awkward and quite random spots of sunburned skin! We always wear lots of sunscreen, but apparently we are not the best at distributing it evenly ;) We have spent so much time relaxing in the garden and trying to get just a little bit of a tan on our otherwise ghostly bodies, but we are not the best at standing...

Brownies with dulce de leche, pecans and dark chocolate

Can you believe that these babies are all healthy?! They totally are.. well you know for your soul at least, for your body probably not so much ;) Haha sorry, bad humor aside these brownies are the traditional kind that are full of sugar, butter and flour and they are SO incredibly good!! You know I absolutely love my healthified treats, but every once in a while I like to go all in and make some super indulgent desserts and these brownies are one of my absolute favorites! I have not yet served them to anyone who didn’t absolutely love them and asked for the recipe, so they could make them again themselves, yep they’re that good! ;) If you...

Healthified banana bread muffins with dark chocolate

I have actually made the same recipe as a regular banana bread before (find it right here!), but I like them a lot more as muffins. They are so moist (haha sorry, I hate that word too!) and spongy + much easier to quickly grab and bring with me. You can easily sub the dark chocolate for chopped nuts or other goodies, but I can really recommend...

Loni Jane’s raw `cherryberry´ chocolate bars – updated

Hi lovelies, I know that some of you have been wondering about the reposted and updated recipes that have appeared on the blog lately, so I thought I would give you an explanation + another updated recipe (one of my absolute favorites!). I am in the process of going through the blog’s archives to update some of my older recipes and give them a little makeover. Many of them are from back when I was blogging on Blogspot, which means that the posts were moved from one platform to another and now the layout looks a bit funny and the photos are the wrong sizes. I am slowly working my way through all those old posts to update them, so they fit...

Three layer no-bake cake – brownie, vanilla cheesecake and chocolate chip cookie dough

I have been so excited to share this cake with you guys! It is inspired by a gorgeous cake that my friend Kamilla made, which she based on this recipe by the talented Copenhagen Cakes. The cake she served was beyond delicious, seriously I could eat that cake everyday, but it was also a traditional cake full of sugar, butter, flour etc, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with (seriously it’s so yum!), but I just had to try and make a healthified version of the cake to share with you guys. I think it turned out really really well, the taste is amazing and while it is still quite heavy in calories, then it is indeed a healthified version made completely without flour, butter,...

Breakfast parfait with chocolate chia pudding, peanut butter, homemade chocolate granola and vanilla skyr

Easy peanut butter chocolate chip cookies

I found this amazing recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip cookies over on the blog NeoHippie (check out her blog if you do not know it already, it is amazing!) and I just knew that I would have to give them a try! I used this recipe, but made a few tiny alterations since I didn’t have all the ingredients and since I prefer to use buckwheat flour instead of regular flour – I didn’t have enough though, so I used half and half. I will try to make them only with buckwheat flour the next time and if it works out well I’ll update the recipe. These cookies are just so unbelievably easy to make, so yummy and and still healthier...

No-bake chocolate cake with cashew raspberry frosting

Some of you might already have gotten a little glimpse of these beauties last week on my snapchat (mokai_giraf), but now I am finally ready to share the recipe! I made them while I was visiting my parents, so I brought some to my parents’ office and the rest to visit my grandparents – they were a big hit with everyone, so I have been so excited to finally share them with you guys! I absolutely LOVE the fact that while this is a healthified raw version of a chocolate cake, then it was still approved by my grandparents who are in their 70’s and are not really used to this kind of dessert. Healthified versions of cake that are made without flour,...

No-bake “Ferrero Rocher” chocolate cake with “Nutella” frosting

I have been super excited to share this beyond delicious over-the-top “Ferrero Rocher” chocolate cake with you guys! I actually made it a while back on the same day that I made my homemade healthified “Nutella” chocolate spread – and yep I definitely had big plans with that healthified “Nutella”! The cake recipe is based on my popular “Nutella” bliss ball recipe and to make it extra delicious (and super indulgent) I just knew I had to try it with my homemade “Nutella” as frosting – I am very glad that I did because this cake is crazy good!! I am obsessed, it taste like a mix of Ferrero Rocher and Nutella, but with an even richer chocolate and hazelnut flavor, seriously...

Homemade healthified “nutella” chocolate spread

As I have shared before, Nutella is one of my absolute favorite things to indulge in, especially when eaten straight out the jar with a spoon ;) Sadly it isn’t exactly the healthiest thing to eat (to put it mildly), so it isn’t something I do very often – until now that is! With this homemade healthified version of Nutella I can indulge a little more often and without all the added nasties and weird ingredients! I absolutely love this healthified version, it has such a rich flavor of chocolate and hazelnut and it completely satisfy my Nutella and chocolate cravings – seriously you need to give this a try, so yum! It was a lot more smooth when I first made it, but...

Healthified banana bread with dark chocolate

This delicious banana bread is so moist, full of sweetness and rich in flavour that it’s hard to believe that it’s actually a healthified version made with ingredients that are nutrient rich and good for you! And if that isn’t a good enough reason for you to get up at give this baby a try right now, then I can tell you that it is also incredibly easy to make and you probably already have all the ingredients (or some that you can easily sub them with) in your kitchen, so what are you waiting for – let’s get cooking! ;) You can find the recipe over on the Danish fashion magazine Costume’s website, where I each tuesday share a new...

Messy dessert parfait with chocolate chia pudding, peanut butter and caramelized banana

This super messy dessert parfait is definitely not the most photogenic dessert I have ever made, but it was too good not to share! It is so rich and indulgent in it’s flavours that it is hard to believe that it is made with all healthy ingredients! The portion size is going to be quite small (the recipe yields two small servings, but in the photo is shown both served in one jar), but this is a quite “heavy” and rich dessert so you really do not need much to satisfy your dessert cravings. Ingredients –  2 small servings: Chocolate chia pudding 2 deciliter oatmilk (all kinds of milk will work) 3 tablespoons chia seeds (buy it right here or here, affiliate links) 1/2 –...

Chocolate chip cookie sandwiches stuffed with cashew vanilla cream

These chocolate chip cookie sandwiches stuffed with vanilla cream are definitely one of the more indulgent recipes I have shared here on the blog, I mean it is a healthified version, but two cookies + vanilla cream stuffing = COOKIE HEAVEN and a total dessert coma!! Hi lovelies, are you ready for some more Christmas treats? Or are you starting to get tired of them already? I am still all Christmas crazy and super excited for the upcoming holidays, so I am sorry but the Christmas recipes will keep coming – I promise to mix in some non-christmassy recipes as well though ;) Today I want to share the recipe for these delicious peppermint chocolate bliss balls with you, they’re made with all healthy ingredients and no refined sugar except for the crushed peppermint candy cane that I rolled some of them in, but that can of course easily be left out if you’d like. Danish christmas treats // “Konfekt” cake, dessert balls and stuffed chocolate covered dates

Sponsored. This post is made in collaboration with Odense Marcipan. I hope you lovelies are as excited for christmas as I am because I have so many christmas posts and recipes lined up for you! One of the first ones I want to share are for some traditional danish christmas treats called “konfekt”, I think the closest english word for it would be confections? My danish readers definitely knows what these delicious treats are, as konfekt is pretty much a stable in danish homes during christmas. It is most commonly made with marzipan, nougat, chocolate, nuts and maybe dried fruit, but I have seen many different twists to it and I think everyone has their own favorite way of making it....

Spoil yourself // Granola with peanut butter and chocolate

Granola is one of my favourite things to add to my breakfast, it is beyond delicious, super easy to make, inexpensive (when you make it yourself), filling and I love the added crunch to my smoothie bowls, yoghurt etc. The granola I usually make are a healthy version made without too much added sugar or fats (just a little honey or coconut oil), but sometimes I am in the mood for something a little more indulgent and we should all remember to spoil ourselves a little from time to time right?! ;) This granola with peanut butter and dark chocolate is my absolute favourite granola to make when I want the “luxury” version of granola, it tastes super indulgent, but the fat...

Raw cake with vanilla and chocolate

Ohh I have been super excited to share this little beauty with you guys, I have been making so many raw mini cakes lately (peanut butter/chocolate, passion fruit, kiwi/matcha & raspberry/coconut) and while this is probably one of the simplest ones, then it is definitely also one of my favorites. It is vanilla flavored and filled with lots of crunchy dark chocolate bites and then drizzled with another layer of dark chocolate, so good! You can find the recipe over on the Danish fashion magazine Costume’s website, where I each tuesday share a new healthy recipe: Find the recipe right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily use an online translator (e.g. just copy-paste the recipe into...

Healthified chocolate chip cookies

As you know I am not very fond of baking, I don’t really know why, but I have just never been very into it, which is why most of my desserts are raw or non-bake. However, every now and then I crave the more traditional baked desserts and I make sure to always create recipes that are easy and no fuss + that doesn’t make too much of a mess or leave too many dishes to be done. So when you find a recipe on here that requires baking then you’ll know that it is usually a super easy one and that is definitely also the case with these super yummy chocolate chip cookies. They take no time to put together...

Raw chocolate with nuts and dates

I absolutely LOVE making my own raw chocolate, it is so delicious and super easy to make + you can add whatever goodies you like! I filled this one with chopped nuts and dates – the nuts adds some nice crunch and the dates adds sweetness to the otherwise slightly bitter raw chocolate, so yum! How do you like your raw chocolate? I could use a little inspiration for new flavour combos and fillings :) You can find the recipe over on the Danish fashion magazine Costume’s website, where I each tuesday share a new healthy recipe: Find the recipe right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily use an online translator (e.g. just copy-paste the recipe into Google...

Buckwheat flour waffles with raw chocolate sauce

Morning lovelies! I hope you are all having an amazing weekend? I have had the most lazy, relaxing and super cozy weekend with my mom, my dad is on a golf trip, so I went home to stay with my mom while he is out of town. We’ve been having a bit of girls weekend, eating lots of good (and not very healthy) food, talking, watching lots of tv, visiting my grandparents and just relaxing and de-stressing, it was just what I needed! I had a bit of an accident last week and accidentally sliced off some of my finger with a mandolin iron (yep that was as gross and painful as it sounds), so it have been good to just relax...

Chocolate and peanut butter raw cake

Ahhh this chocolate and peanut butter raw cake is such a mess and I absolutely love it!! It is so rich in flavor and tastes super indulgent and yummy, but is made with all healthy ingredients! I brought this when I went to visit my friend Laura and it was definitely approved! She is my favorite person to serve my little creations for as she is always so enthusiastic and pretty much loves everything I put in front of her. Haha I always feel like it is a little nerve-racking to serve a new and not yet properly tested recipe to people, because I feel like it might be awkward for them if it isn’t good and I’m always worried whether they’d tell me...

Pink chocolate and berry flavored bliss balls

Hello lovelies, I hope you have all had an amazing weekend? I definitely did, I spent most of friday and saturday working, but when you love what you do and you are your own boss then it is really not too bad. Today I took off most of the day to hang out with my friend Kamilla and it was just what I needed, I have to be careful not to work 24/7 and actually take some time to relax. We went to watch the Ironman triathlon here in Copenhagen (so much respect for the men and women who participated) and pretty much just walked around for hours in the beautiful weather while talking and enjoying some naughty food aka. hot dogs and ice...

No-bake chocolate cake with creamy raw chocolate frosting

Hi lovelies! I made this chocolately beauty earlier today and I was so happy with how it turned out that I just couldn’t wait to share it with you, haha I don’t remember the last time I actually posted a recipe the same day that I made it – I rarely even post them in the same week, my blogging game has been weak af lately I know! I feel like I am getting my blogging mojo back though, I have already prepped 4 new posts for you, so hopefully I will be getting back into a proper routine from now on. But back to the cake!! This no-bake chocolate cake with raw chocolate frosting is definitely a new favorite of...

Black bean brownies with chocolate frosting

I know I am super late to the party when it comes to brownies made with black beans, but I have just not been convinced that the otherwise classic combo when it comes to healthy desserts could possibly be as tasty and proper dessert’ish (in lack of a better word) as I have been told. As it turns out, I was very wrong. These black bean brownies are surprisingly good, you don’t taste the beans at all and even my little sister who infamously pretty much hates all healthified desserts were actually completely crazy about these ones and ended up eating almost all of them!! I have created the recipe for the Danish magazine Costume and you can find it over on their...

Raw chocolate mousse with a hint of mint

Homemade chocolate mousse is one of my go-to desserts when I feel the chocolate cravings kicking in, but I don’t want to make something that is too time-consuming. This raw chocolate mousse only takes 2 minutes to make, but it so tasty with a rich chocolate flavor and a hint of mint that adds a little freshness. The best part is that while this dessert looks and tastes super indulgent then it is actually made with all healthy ingredients and no refined sugar! I have made a similar chocolate mousse before – find the recipe here – but this time I added some fresh mint leaves for a little extra flavor kick and I absolutely love how it turned out, chocolate and mint goes so...

Fruit skewers with vanilla cashew cream and raw chocolate

These colorful fruit skewers with cashew’vanilla cream and raw chocolate makes for the perfect healthy treat now that warmer days are approaching – or well I hope it is wherever you are, because here in Copenhagen is is still super cold and rainy! But anyways, those warm summer days will have to get here eventually and when they do, I am planning on making these to snack on! They are also quite the perfect treat for children as neither the raw chocolate or cashew’vanilla cream contains any refined sugar and I am thinking the fun and colorful fruit skewers will be appreciated by little ones. Haha but not too little or else I would probably have a heart attack stressing over whether they would be...

Four layer caramel slices with coconut, peanut butter and chocolate

Yaasss I have been so super excited to share this recipe with you! These four layer caramel slices are made with all healthy ingredients (still calorie-dense though), are sooo tasty and as a big bonus they are all impressive looking, but are actually super easy to make! Haha I love serving treats like this and wow people, when all you really need is a food processor, a freezer and a little patience ;) The recipe was inspired by this recipe from Greener Resolutions, this recipe from Elsa’s Wholesome life and this recipe from my own blog. Base: 3/4 cup almonds 1/2 cup shredded coconut 10 dates, pitted 2 tablespoons acacia honey (use agave if vegan) 2 tablespoons coconut oil 1 tablespoon almond milk or water...

Chocolate and peanut butter flavored dessert smoothie

This creamy dessert smoothie with a rich chocolate flavor and a hint of peanut butter is the perfect way to satisfy those after dinner chocolate cravings in a healthy way. It is made with all healthy and good for you ingredients, but it taste so yummy and indulgent! I have created the recipe for the Danish magazine Costume and you can find it over on their website, where I each tuesday share a new recipe :) Find the recipe right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily use an online translator (e.g. just copy-paste the recipe into Google Translate) and if you have any problems, then just let me know and I will help you :)

Chocolate beetroot muffins

Hello lovelies! Let me introduce you to one of my new favorite desserts – chocolate beetroot muffins! I can’t believe it took me so long to give this classic combination of beet and chocolate a try, it is beyond good! These muffins are completely free of refined sugar and flour, but they still taste absolutely amazing and super indulgent! The beetroot gives the muffins the perfect texture, they are so moist (hate that word!) and fudgy, but I promise that you won’t be able to taste the beet, they just have a nice rich chocolate flavor – so good! I have created this recipe for the Danish magazine Costume and you can find it over on their website, where I each tuesday share...

Healthified birthday cake with raspberry, chocolate and coconut

I have been so crazy excited to finally be able to share this healthified birthday cake with you lovelies – isn’t it pretty? :D I am so happy with how this cake turned out – it is made from all healthy ingredients, contains no refined sugar or flour and it taste absolutely amazing! I spent so much time making this and trying to get it just right, haha I could definitely tell that I have never tried making a birthday cake before! The recipe is created for the Danish magazine Costume and you can find it over on their website, where I each tuesday share a new recipe :) Find the recipe right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily use an...

Chocolate “cake batter” overnight oats

Hello lovelies! I am here to bring you yet another breakfast recipe possessing two of my favorite qualities – it taste like dessert and you can make it the night before! These chocolate “cake batter” overnight oats are beyond easy to make, super tasty and of course all healthy, doesn’t get much better than that huh? :D Ingredients – 2 servings: 1.5 cup almond milk 3 tablespoons chia seeds 1 + 1/4 cup rolled oats 1 teaspoon pure vanilla powder 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder 1 tablespoon acacia honey (or agave if vegan) A pinch of salt Stevia to taste I have both mixed in yoghurt, mashed banana, chopped nuts, shredded coconut or peanut butter just before serving and that taste amazing as well! The...

Easy 2 minute (raw) chocolate dipped strawberries

Hello lovelies! I am just stopping by with a quick little recipe for these cute chocolate dipped strawberries – just in time for Valentine’s Day eh? ;) I have been making these quite some times now and they are always super popular, so I though I would share them with you as well. I love how they are all healthy and super easy to make, but they taste absolutely amazing and look all fancy schmancy :D Ingredients: 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted 2-3 tablespoons raw cacao powder 1 tablespoon acacia honey, agave or your sweetener of choice 1/3 teaspoon pure vanilla powder Strawberries – keep them in the fridge, so the chocolate hardens faster Chopped nuts – I used toasted almonds and hazlenuts Directions:...

Easy christmas treat – nutty chocolate covered dates

I love making traditional danish christmas treats for my family and I, but sometimes it is nice to mix in some healthier treats as well and these chocolate covered nutty dates are definitely a new favorite. They are super easy to make and you can pretty much use whatever kind of topping and stuffing that you like. I got the idea from Karen who runs the amazing blog Secret Squirrel Food – you can find the recipe right here! I used medjool dates that I stuffed with roasted hazelnuts and almonds, dipped in melted dark chocolate (I made them at my parents place, so I didn’t have the ingredients to make raw chocolate) and topped them with chopped pistachios, almonds and freeze-dried...

2 minute healthy chocolate mousse

The other day I had the craziest chocolate cravings, but no actual chocolate in the house = I was going a little crazy! Haha so to preserve my sanity (without having to leave the house to buy chocolate, lazy lazy) I decided to make chocolate mousse. I have actually never made chocolate mousse before, but I really love how it turned out, so I thought I would share it with you lovelies. It is super easy to make and it taste amazing, even my little sister, who pretty much never likes any of the healthified treats and desserts I make, asked me to make another portion of this, so I consider it to be quite a success. I hope you will like it...

No-bake chocolate cake with coconut and fresh berries

Hello lovelies, my third recipe created for the Danish magazine Costume is now online and I must say that I have been quite excited to share this one with you. This beauty of a healthified dessert is an easy peasy no-bake chocolate cake with coconut, a creamy frosting and lots of fresh berries. I really love how this cake turned out, the mix of the indulgent chocolate/coconut cake goes so well with the frosting and fresh berries. My family loved it as well and they are not used to healthified raw desserts like this so I consider it a big success! :D You can find the recipe right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily use an online translator and if you...

Chocolate covered coconut bites

I have been wanting to make these little chocolate covered coconut bites for a while now and I kept seeing so many different variations of these everywhere, so I thought it was about time that I finally gave them a try. They taste a bit like bounty bars, only a lot healthier of course, but also a lot messier – haha my entire kitchen is pretty much covered in chocolate right now, I seriously cannot make anything without leaving my kitchen a total mess! Oh and that is chocolate underneath my fingernails, not dirt! Haha I even have chocolate in my hair!! Ingredients: Coconut filling: 1 cup desiccated coconut 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted 1/3 teaspoon pure vanilla powder 1 teaspoon acacia honey/agave Raw...

Friday Favorites – All things chocolate

Raw chocolate cake – recipe here! Hello lovelies, I hope you have all had an amazing week and are ready for an even better weekend! I want to introduce you to a new weekly series called `Friday Favorites´ where I each friday will share some of my favorite recipes from the blog with you. They will always be centered around a certain theme and this time it will be dedicated to all things chocolate, yum! I got the idea to do this because I always get requests to create recipes that are extremely similar to something that I have actually already posted –  I know this is partly due to the lack of a recipe index, but I am working on that and I hope to have...

Chocolate crunch granola

I love making my own granola and muesli and I am always trying new recipes and flavor combinations, it is so easy to make yourself and it not only saves you money, but homemade muesli/granola often taste much better than the store-bought ones and when you make it yourself you know exactly what is in it. This chocolate crunch granola is one of my favorite granola recipes at the moment, it is so tasty and super simple to make, but it is also a little indulgent so I like to call it my dessert granola even though I have been sneaky and enjoyed it for breakfast several times this week – haha I mean is there a better way to start your morning...

Chocolate covered almonds with raspberry hats

Almonds covered in raw chocolate and then topped with cute little raspberry hats are one of my favorite treats at the moment, they are so simple to make and the dark rich flavor of the chocolate goes so well with the fresh raspberries. I have already eaten most of this batch (I only made it last night) – haha and the only thing holding me back from eating the rest it that I ran out of raspberries! Ingredients: 100 g. almonds 2 tablespoons raw coconut oil 2 tablespoon raw cacao 1 tablespoon acai honey or agave A pinch of salt Fresh raspberries To make the raw chocolate simply melt the coconut oil on low heat and mix in the cacao, honey and the...

Chocolate hazelnut “nutella” balls

I made these chocolate hazelnut balls the other day and had my friend Laura taste test them, they were definitely approved – she was sure I had added a lot of nutella, which in our opinion is always a good thing ;) However, these little dessert balls are actually all healthy and contain only unprocessed ingredients, which means I’ve been snacking on them non-stop all day, haha it’s all good when they’re healthy right?! Ingredients: 1 cup hazelnuts 1/3 cup dates, packed 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder 1 tablespoon coconut oil ¼ cup acacia honey 1 teaspoon pure vanilla powder A pinch of salt 3 squares dark chocolate (I used 70%) Directions: Start by toasting the hazelnuts in the oven...

Chocolate mini pancakes with homemade chocolate sauce, sliced banana and fresh strawberries

This is one of those desserts that looks like it is super naughty – aka. full of sugar, fat, calories etc. – but actually really isn’t at all! Don’t get me wrong, I love eating naughty desserts as much as the next one, but I do try eat healthy most of the time (haha the key word here is try ;)), which is why this dessert is perfect – it satisfies the cravings and my sweet tooth, but is actually made of all healthy ingredients! Ingredients, 2 servings: 2 eggs 1 banana 2 deciliter oats 2 tablespoons skyr/greek yoghurt 1.5 – 2  tablespoon raw cacao 1/2 – 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon bakingpowder A square of dark chocolate, grated (preferably...

Chocolate chia pudding

I want to share a dessert that is not only super fast and easy to make, but is also healthy and fairly low in calories as well. This chocolate chia pudding only takes a couple of minutes to put together and it is full of two of my favourite superfoods – chia seeds and cacao. You can find my post on chia seeds and their amazing health benefits right here. Ingredients – 1 large serving, as pictured: 2 decilitre milk 2 1/2  tablespoons chia seeds 1 tablespoon cacao powder 1/2 – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla powder 1/2 – 1 tablespoon acacia honey (or your sweetener of choice) A square of dark chocolate, grated (I used 70%) Directions: Simply add all...

Homemade raw heart chocolates

Here we go, a recipe for homemade heart shaped chocolates just in time for Valentine´s Day! I’m single (whatever, who needs men when you have chocolate;)) so I will be sharing these with my girlfriends, but if you’re spending Valentines with a special someone this could be a good idea for a homemade treat. Ingredients: For the chocolate 100 g. raw cacao butter 7 tblsp. raw cacao powder 1 tblsp. coconut oil A little sea salt – optional Sweetener of choice, agave, honey, coconut sugar etc. Ideas for the filling – optional : Hazelnuts Almonds Goji berries Dates Chia seeds Shredded coconut Directions: First of remember that all utensils must be dry or the chocolate will separate. Healthy treat – dark chocolate, medjool dates and banana boats topped with berry mash

A little inspiration for a healthy treat; the banana bites are topped with raspberries mashed with a little honey, chia seeds and pomegranate. I have a major sweet tooth and snacks like this really helps me kick the cravings, so I don’t binge on things full of processed sugar and chemicals – haha it doesn’t always work though ;)

18 (healthy) Valentine’s Day recipe ideas

1.) Pink chocolate and berry flavored bliss balls – find the recipe right here! In honor of Valentine’s Day and after getting a couple of requests, I have put together a little Valentines Day recipe post with my most Valentines’ish recipes from the blog. Since I live in a country where we do not really celebrate Valentine’s Day and since I am not exactly the most romantic person in the world (haha being single probably doesn’t help!), then I don’t really have any super cutesy Valentine’s day themed recipes, but I think a lot of these recipes would be perfect to spoil your special someone this Valentine’s. There’s is a little bit of everything – treats, snacks, drinks, breakfast and dinner ideas, I...

Banana pancakes with blueberries and lemon

When I have a little extra time one of my favorite things to make for breakfast are banana pancakes, they are so tasty – almost like dessert, but still healthy – and super filling! I have already posted a whole bunch of pancake recipes before (find them here!), but in my opinion you can never really have too many pancakes recipes ;) I usually like to keep my pancakes quite plain and simple (kinda boring I know) and then spice them up with lots of toppings instead, but I felt adventurous and added some extra flavors to this batch ;) I absolutely love how well the flavors from the blueberries and lemon go together + how the lemon perfectly adds a little zing to the pancakes! I couldn’t help myself, so...

Spicy cheezy popcorn

Hi lovelies! I am finally able to share another recipe with you guys! As I have mentioned before, I have so much going on right now (I am so happy and excited, but also a bit of a stressed and nervous wreck), which makes it hard to keep up with the blog, but whenever I have a little extra time, then I promise that I will do my best to update the blog. Some of you have been asking about my  January Challenge, it is still going strong, I have had two slip-ups so far, but I strive for improvement and not perfection, so I am not beating myself up. The first slip up was that I ate the fries that came as a side when...

Hi lovelies! I just wanted to stop by and wish you merry December 1st + share some of my favorite Christmas recipes ❤︎ I thought I would have a whole bunch of healthified (and also some more traditional) Christmas recipes ready for you by now, but I am sadly still not feeling too well. Every time I start feeling better and get back to work, then I feel sick again in the evening and the following day, so I am trying to take it easy for a couple more days and then I will hopefully beat whatever this is completely. Until then I want to share some of my favorite Christmas recipes from previous years with you guys – there are...

1. Advent // Christmas giveaway!

Happy advent lovelies! I am not sure how many of you out there actually celebrates this as I have quite an international following, but here in Denmark (and I know in some other countries as well) we celebrate advent on the four Sundays leading up to christmas eve. It is actually a christian tradition, but nowadays it is more of a cosy (cultural) christmas tradition and for most people (myself included) it does not have anything to do with religion. Everyone celebrates advent differently here and some don’t celebrate it at all, but the most common way to celebrate is to light a candle (one out of four Advent candles), enjoy some traditional Danish christmas treats like æbleskiver, gløgg and christmas chocolates + santa (or...

These yummy chickpea blondies drizzled with white chocolate is one of my new absolute favorite treats! I know it might sounds a bit strange that they are made from chickpeas, but I promise you that you cannot taste it, they just taste like the yummiest indulgent blondies – not like a healthified version at all!! I am obsessed! They have the most perfect gooey moist texture and they are so full of flavour, I seriously cannot recommend these enough! The blondies are completely free from flour, refined sugar and butter + they are full of protein and goodness from the chickpeas, tahini and peanut butter. You will not regret giving these babies a try ❤︎ Find more treats and desserts right here! Ingredients: 1 can of...

Halloween treat – candy apple slices

Okay here we go lovelies, I am finally ready with another Halloween inspired recipe and this one is probably the easiest one yet! It was actually supposed to be a lot more fancy than it turned out, I had made the most delicious homemade healthified caramel, buuut it turned out to be more of a caramel sauce since it wouldn’t set properly, so this version is made with chocolate only ;) I have shared some (candy apple approved) caramel recipes at the bottom of the page though for those interested. Enjoy! ❤︎ Find my other Halloween inspired recipes right here, here and here! Ingredients: Apples Dark chocolate, melted Milk Chocolate, melted White chocolate, melted Chopped nuts Wooden sticks Directions: Start by cutting your apples...

Halloween treat // Coconut sugar caramel popcorn

Hi lovelies, I know I am taking forever with my Halloween recipes and I am so sorry about that, I think I got a little too cocky the other day sharing how I usually avoids colds and getting sick in the fall, because I am down with a bad cold and what feels like a flu on the way. This means that I might not get through all the Halloween recipes that I had planned, but I do have this yummy caramel popcorn recipe + at least one more recipe ready for you guys. I got the idea for these beyond delicious popcorn after visiting one of my girlfriends who served the BEST caramel candy popcorn and chocolate covered blueberries (I am totally going...

Healthy Halloween treat // Bloody witch fingers

Okay here we go, I finally have another Halloween recipe ready for you guys! I am sorry it took me this long, I haven’t been feeling so well lately, I am not sick, but I just feel out of balance and extremely tired. I am thinking about finally investing in one of those daylight lamps as I am sadly one of those who suffers from SAD (in varying degrees) this time of year. Last year I feel like I dodged the bullet by going to LA in October and November, but there is no escape this year, so it is about time that I finally get myself one of those daylight lamps. Let me know if you have any tips...

Ice ice baby // 9 of my favorite popsicle recipes

Okay I know that I talk wayyy too much about the weather, but it has such a large impact on my mood, so I just cannot help but appreciate it when we finally have some lovely weather here. It has been such a nice sunny day today and I just love it even more now that I finally have my own garden! I had to catch up on some work today, but I got to spend a couple of hours in my garden, eating homemade popsicles and reading Harry Potter – two of my favorite things! ❤︎ Since summer is almost over and so is the popsicle season, then I thought I would make another little recipe roundup post with my favorite popsicle recipes...

As you have probably noticed by now I am quite fond of matcha and it’s amazing health benefits, so when I stocked up on my favorite matcha powder last week I of course had make a matcha version of my homemade popsicles! How pretty are these?! I love the beautiful green color from the matcha powder and the flavor is just perfect for healthy treats when you combine it with vanilla and a little bit of chocolate ❤︎ You can find the recipe over on the Danish fashion magazine Costume’s website, where I share two brand new recipes every month: Find the recipe right here! And my post on matcha and it’s benefits right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily...

Healthy summer treat

These yummy watermelon slices are absolutely perfect if you are looking for a super easy and all healthy summer treat! I topped mine with chopped pistachios, freezedried raspberry, raw coconut chips and mint leaves, so yum! To make the raw chocolate simply mix 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil, 1 – 1 1/2 tablespoon raw cacao powder, 1/2 tablespoon acacia honey, pure maple sirup or agave, a pinch of vanilla powder and a tiny pinch of sea salt. ♥ Follow me on ⋅ Bloglovin' ⋅ Instagram ⋅ Facebook ⋅ Tumblr ⋅ Pinterest ♥

Banana bread with mixed seeds and berries

I had a lot of leftover super ripe bananas this weekend, so I just knew I had to bake another batch of my favorite banana bread muffins + I wanted to experiment with a new banana bread recipe as well. I actually ended up just using my favorite banana bread recipe and then I added mixed seeds and berries as well for some extra flavor and texture, so delicious! I love to serve this as a healthified dessert, but it works great for breakfast as well, just add less honey and leave out the coconut sugar + only add half the coconut oil for an even healthier version. Make sure you check out my other banana bread recipes right here! Ingredients: 3 large bananas,...

No-bake brownies with peanut butter and pecans

When I first started this blog I absolutely hated peanut butter, I did not understand peoples obsession with it at all and I honestly found it downright repulsing. Haha yeah a lot has definitely changed since then! It all started with me finally trying proper peanut butter, you know the kind where there is only added peanuts and a bit of salt. The other peanut butters I had tried were full of nasties and probably only had very little actual peanuts in them, I remember them being so sticky that it almost glued my mouth together and it tasted so awful. When I finally tried proper peanut butter I started to see why some people might like it, but I was still not...

Toast party

These yummy and colorful pieces of toast got so much attention when I posted a photo over on my snapchat (mokai_giraf) earlier this week that I thought I better share the details with you guys – haha I have never seen so many screenshots before!! The bread is (toasted) wholegrain rye toast and the toppings are: peanut butter and sliced strawberries // a drizzle of acacia honey, sliced banana, cinnamon and chopped dark (70% cacao) chocolate // greek yoghurt, sliced peach, passion fruit and a drizzle of acacia honey // hardboiled eggs and sea salt + pepper // greek yoghurt, blueberries and mint leaves // mashed avo, pumpkin seeds and seasalt + pepper  ❤︎

Healthified banana muffins with peanut butter and raspberries

Are you lovelies ready for some delicious healthified baked goods? Haha I know you are! And what better day to give these babies a try than on a cosy Sunday afternoon, then you will have a little something on hand tomorrow to cure those Monday blues ;) These yummy banana muffins with peanut butter and raspberries are my newest dessert addiction and if you think they look a little familiar, then it is because they are based on my recipe for healthified banana bread muffins! I love experimenting with new flavor combos for my old recipes and this one is just too good! The muffins are so delicious, super moist (ugh, hate that word!) and healthier than regular muffins, meaning that they are a healthified version made without...

Three layer neapolitan inspired summer cake

Hi lovelies, I hope you are all having an amazing weekend ❤︎ I certainly am. I just had a couple of days off, first to participate in Distortion (a huge crazy streetparty in Copenhagen that ended even crazier, haha I love nights like that!) and then to take care of my hangover ;) Right now I am housesitting my cousins place and cats with my little sister and a friend and I am having the best time! The weather is beyond amazing, we are talking 30+ degrees and lots of sun (haha we even bought a little inflatable babypool to cool off in), we’re eating good food, watching movies, relaxing and just enjoying being surrounded by all this beautiful nature – this is all much...

Summer’s coming // My 20 favorite summery recipes

Okay I know that you guys are probably really tired of me talking about the weather, but there is nothing I love more than spring and summer + when you live in Denmark and have like 3 weeks of good weather a year, then you get really excited whenever the weather is good ;) We have been quite blessed with good weather lately, so I have been working on so many new summery recipes that I cannot wait to share with you, but until then I have collected 20 of my favorite summer recipes for you lovelies to enjoy. Healthy banana waffles with strawberry/rhubarb compote

Hi lovelies! I am just quickly stopping by to share the recipe for these beyond delicious (and healthy!) banana waffles with you guys. I am actually on my way out the door to have dinner with my little sister and watch the new X-Men movie, so I will keep it short ;) These yummy waffles are actually based on my favorite banana pancake recipe, but since I am bit lazy when it comes to making pancakes, then I have been making them as waffles instead ever since I bought my waffle iron. Haha waffle irons are such a gift to lazies who enjoys indulgent breakfasts ;) I love to serve these waffles both for breakfast and for dessert, I just...

Recipe Roundup // My 8 favorite raw cheesecake recipes

So I think you guys have probably noticed just how much I love raw cakes by now? ;) They are definitely one of my favorite things to make for dessert and especially raw cheesecakes, they always taste amazing and they are super easy to make – haha but most people don’t know that, so you can really impress your guest if you are serving one of these babies ;) Another thing I really love about raw cheesecakes is that you can make them days in advance and just keep them in the freezer until an hour before serving – it doesn’t get much easier that that! My weakness for raw cheesecakes means that I have made quite a few different versions and I...

Healthified milkshakes and ice cream without added sugar // Summer is here!

Sponsored. This post is made in collaboration with WAUW – ice cream without added sugar. So you know how I always complain about the awful Danish weather? Well these past few days we have had the most amazing warm and sunny weather, it has actually been warmer than it is on most days during summer, so it is safe to say that I am more than happy with the turn our spring weather has taken! The timing is quite impeccable too as I have teamed up with WAUW ice cream to test their delicious ice creams without added sugar and create some summery recipes for you guys! I usually like to keep it quite simple when it comes to ice cream, I...

Pink bliss raw mini cheesecakes

Ohh how cute are these raw mini cheesecakes?! So pink and girly! When I planned to make them I actually pictured styling them in a quite rustic way, but I somehow ended up with this cutesy wedding/babyshower’ish styling – haha not quite sure what happened! I already had the props laid out and was ready to style and shoot the cakes, but then my eye caught the very sad looking withered rose bouquet on my dining table and I just knew that I had to use the last couple of rose buds that were still pretty, before it was time to throw out the dying bouquet. I am so glad that I did, because I really love how the photos turned out....

Lovely little things // Something new and little peeks behind the scenes

¨ Spring inspired cake with strawberry and coconut ¨ Hello lovelies! Some of you might remember that I used to have this little series on my blog called ‘Lovely little things’ where I shared little glimpses from behind the scenes and my everyday life? Well guess what, I am bringing it back! Yep a lot of new (and well in this case technically old I guess) things are coming to the blog, I have so many ideers and plans that I cannot wait to share with you! You do not have to worry though, the main focus of the blog will always be recipes, I just like to mix it up a little and I have been wanting to make it...

Raw matcha cheesecake with mint and lemon // New & updated recipe

I originally posted this cute little raw matcha cheesecake last year, but I have since re-created it a couple of times and I think this version with mint and lemon is so much better than the original one with kiwi that I just had to update the recipe and share this new version with you guys! I haven’t had the time to take new photos yet, but they will be updated asap as well. I first came up with this new version for a shoot with the Danish magazine Iform, where I created 4 different matcha recipes using Byoh matcha (for my fellow Danes, the recipes are in this months magazine that are on the stands now!). It was such a fun...

International Waffle Day // My favorite waffle recipes

Hello lovelies! Today is International Waffle Day, which means that today is of course going to be all about waffles – haha as if I’d need another excuse to eat waffles all day erryday! ;) I LOVE to make waffles for both breakfast, dessert, lunch or dinner, I am still quite new to making savoury waffles, but I can tell you that you will be seeing a lot more of those on the blog, because anything that can make it legit to have waffles for lunch are dinner are beyond amazing in my book ;) In honor of Waffle Day I have shared 4 of my favorite waffle recipes below, there’s both savory waffles, healthified breakfast waffles, indulgent dessert waffles and a...

First day of spring // Frozen yogurt party

Sponsored. This post is made in collaboration with Chuck & Cherry frozen yogurt. Last week my sister and I enjoyed the first proper day of spring under the warming sun in my parents garden, it was amazing to be able to be outside without wearing a jacket and to feel the sun on my face. I chose to go all in on the summer feel and serve us a big colorful platter with beyond delicious frozen yogurts from Chuck & Cherry with lots of fresh fruit and delicious toppings – you can find the details and recipes below. The Chuck & Cherry frozen yogurts are made from Danish milk and yoghurt, are super creamy and delicious and they are light in calories – it...

Homemade healthified easter eggs

Easter is getting closer, which to me personally (I’m not religious) means that is time to spend some quality time with my family and eat lots of good food and treats! I absolutely LOVE traditional Danish food and all the classic easter candy like chocolate eggs etc. but I also like to add in some of my healthified versions to keep me from going into a total food coma. Haha who am I kidding though, at least one major food coma is bound to happen ;) Anyways, if you are looking for some healthified, but still beyond delicious easter treats, then you should give these yummy easter eggs a try! They are chocolate covered and topped with chopped almonds and...

CAKE CAKE CAKE // 15 of my favorite cake recipes – updated

“CAKE, CAKE, CAKE” – sing it like Rihana and finish with a “Cake by the pound” by Beyonce and then the mood is set for this saturday’s post! ;) Today’s post is obviously going to be all about CAKE! I have collected some of my favourite cake recipes from the blog and put them all together in a greatest hits kind of post. I love to do these posts because I feel like recipes ends up in the archives and gets forgotten way too fast, so this is a great way to re-visit old recipes and discover (or rediscover) some new favorites. These babies are all healthy (except for number 10) and many of them are vegan as well, so there should...

My 16 favorite bliss- & dessert ball recipes – updated version

Bliss balls and dessert balls are some of my absolute favorite treats, not just because they’re super delicious and easy to make, but also because I love that they’re bite sized so I can sneakily munch on a couple of them throughout the day when my cravings kick in (unlike cake and such where you usually have a bigger, but single serving). I always try to keep a batch on hand at all times to help me keep my sugar and dessert cravings in check. When I can have one (haha or sometimes 5) of these, then it usually does it for me, my cravings are satisfied and I am able to steer clear of the less (or not at all) healthy alternatives....

My favorite 1 minute treat

This beyond delicious treat is one of my new go-to’s when I get sugar cravings and want something that is super quick to make, but still healthy and nourishing. It definitely has quite a high calorie count though, which is why I consider it a treat and not a snack, but unlike many other quick treats these babies are not just empty calories, but actually has nutritionally value. To make these delicious date bites you simply take a medjool date, remove the pit, fill it with peanut butter and top it with a square of dark chocolate (preferably 70% cacao or higher). If I use a smooth peanut butter instead of a crunchy one, then I fill the date with a toasted almond...

Pancake Day! 7 healthified pancake recipes

As a lot of you have probably noticed if you follow food bloggers on social media is that today is Pancake Day! From what I understand it is actually kind of a big deal in some countries, but I must admit that I didn’t know it was today until everyone started posting about it on social media. Haha I will take any excuse to make pancakes though, so that’s what were having for dinner tonight – yep for dinner ;) I love to make breakfast for dinner every now and then (okay probably a little more often than I’d like to admit) and especially when it’s a big stack of pancakes with aaaaall of the toppings! Anyways, to celebrate Pancake Day I have...

World Nutella day and 2 homemade healthified “Nutella” recipes + a cake

So apparently february 5th is official World Nutella day and with my love for Nutella I of course couldn’t let a day like that go by without giving it a little attention! I have already started my day with toasted bread with Nutella (yass so good!!) and since I am visiting my parents at the moment it was actually real Nutella (drooool, so smooth, so naughty, so YUM!), which I usually do not have at home. Instead I prefer to make my own healthified versions and while they’re not as smooth as the real Nutella, then I actually think they taste just as great, maybe even a little better? My homemade “Nutella” chocolate spreads have such rich flavors of chocolate and hazelnuts...

8 delicious (and super healthy) chia pudding recipes

As you might have noticed here on the blog and over on my instagram I am quite fond of chia puddings and love to make them both for breakfast and as healthy desserts. There are so many pros to chia puddings; they taste great, they are super healthy (see my post on chia seeds and their health benefits right here), very filling, beyond easy to make and the best part is that you can make them the night before to save time! I know some would say that the texture is a big con though (personally I like it), but a little tip is to mix your chia pudding with a little bit of yoghurt before serving to give it a more smooth texture. I have...

My LA food guide

After spending two whole months (October and November) in Los Angeles last year I got quite familiar with a lot of amazing places to eat and as promised I finally have my post with recommendations ready for you! I have to say that there are sooo many amazing places we didn’t try (I already have such a long list for our next visit) and we tried so many meh (as in not in any way share worthy) places as well. We didn’t have a car during our stay (none of us have drivers licenses), which meant that we often just went to restaurants and cafés that were close to where we lived or whichever area we were exploring that day. It was rare...

Quick and healthy tropical breakfast

Hi lovelies, I hope you are doing great and that your year is off to a great start ❤️ Personally I am struggling a bit with getting back into a proper routine, I have been eating too much unhealthy food and treats, I haven’t been working out and my sleep pattern is so messed up! I always let go and just enjoy myself during the Christmas holidays/New years, but then get back on track with my healthy lifestyle in January, it just haven’t been going as easily as usual this year. Haha I guess I just need to get my sh*t together and do it! I have even considered trying a juice cleanse (always been a bit skeptical of those) to really kickstart...

The 10 most popular recipes of 2015

Before we say our final farewell to 2015, then I would like to look back on the year and share the 10 most popular (aka. most viewed) recipes from 2015 with you. There are so many of my personal favourites among these and it is nice to know that you appreciate the same kinds of recipes as I do. Haha though sometimes I can make something that I absolutely LOVE and then it gets absolutely no views or feedback, which can be a little frustrating when you personally feel like it is some of your best work, so its good to see that at least we’re on the same page most of the time ;) Not very surprisingly last years favourites counted a...

Healthified apple pie // Guest blogger: Julie Bruun

Hi loves, it is time for the very last post in my little guest blogger series as my LA trip is over and I am now back home in Copenhagen. This week I have the honor of having Julie from the blog Julie Bruun stopping by to share the recipe for her (healthified) apple pie – how good does it look?! Yum! Raw mini cheesecake with blueberry and vanilla

Ooohh look at this blueberry beauty, I told you that I was not done with mini raw cakes yet, didn’t I? ;) This raw mini cheesecake with blueberry and vanilla is the newest in line and I know I say this all the time, but this is definitely one of my new favorites! It is so fresh, flavorful and just beyond delicious! I know the photos aren’t too impressive, but the light was absolutely terrible and disappearing fast, so I just had to shoot it really quick, but don’t hold that against the cake – I promise that it is absolutely delicious! Do you have any suggestions or wishes for new flavour combos that I should try? I am starting to run out...

12 healthy breakfast recipes // The best way to start the day!

There has always been much debate about breakfast and how necessary or important it really is, one expert says one thing and a second expert says another, but what I do know for certain is that to me personally breakfast is absolutely the most important meal of the day and I do not even know how to function without it. Haha I actually love breakfast so much that I often go to bed dreaming of what to eat when I wake up ;) Breakfast is so important to me because it gives me the energy I need to get through the day and so I always try to make sure that I have a healthy, filling and nourishing breakfast – some superfood fuel for...

Hello lovelies! It is time for this weeks guest post and and I must say that this one looks beyond delicious! Healthified granola bars

Some of the most popular recipes on the blog are for treats and snacks and while I have been sharing quite a few recipes for treats and desserts lately, then I just discovered that it has been ages since I have posted a proper snack recipe, so I think it is about time I change that! I experimented with these healthified granola bars before leaving for LA and I absolutely love how they turned out – they’re so much healthier than those store bought granola bars, but they are still so delicious and quite sweet actually because of the banana, dried berries and honey. I love to snack on them if I get hungry between meals (which I always do) or when I am on...

Halloween!! // 13 scary good Halloween recipes

Halloween is finally about to be here and for the first time EVER I am actually in a country where they celebrate it = YAY!! I have always been completely obsessed with Halloween and have even thrown Halloween themed parties etc. when I was younger – though no one celebrated Halloween in Denmark back then! I think it all started out with me and a friend discovering this amazing childrens book in our school library that I think was called `The Witch’s Handbook´ (Håndbog for hekse) and it had all these amazing spells, “facts”, info on fortunetelling, recipes and pretty much everything a witch would need to know ;) And then after that I discovered Harry Potter (which is pretty...

Brunch time (w. my favorite healthy recipes) // Togetherness

Sponsored. This post is made in collaboration with Valio – lactose-free dairy products Is there anything better than enjoying good food in good company? It is certainly one of my absolute favourite things to do and I especially love cooking and sharing meals with my friends and family. One of the best ways to enjoy food and each others company are in my opinion over brunch, it’s perfect because it usually consist of a lot of different foods and drinks, so you know that there will be something for everyone and it’s so nice to be able to taste so many different things while spending time with your loved ones. Having so many different small dishes also means that you can sit there and...

Smoothie love // My 12 favourite smoothie recipes

Hello lovelies, I hope you are having an amazing weekend? I have had such a fun week here in LA meeting up with some amazing girlies and exploring the city (I’ll post a LA diary soon!), which means that I pretty much haven’t got any work done, so this weekend will be all about catching up on work for me. It’s okay when you do something that you love though! And we are planning to go to the cinema tomorrow, so there’ll be room for a little fun as well – I really wanna watch Crimson Peak, haha I’m crushing so hard on Tom Hiddleston! ;) Anyways, back to what this post is really supposed to be about – SMOOTHIES!! :D...

Sweet potato tacos with mint cilantro salsa // Guest blogger: 8th and lake

Hello lovelies! It is time for the blog’s very first guest post (eek super excited about this!!) and we are off to an amazing (and super delicious) start! Marie is the woman behind the inspiring foodblog 8th and Lake and she is sharing her absolutely drool worthy recipe for these gorgeous sweet potato tacos with mint cilantro salsa. Make sure you check out Marie’s blog for more amazing recipes! Hi I’m Marie! I’m from sunny San Francisco. Just kidding, it’s usually foggy in these parts. But come in October and you just might catch a little sun. I’m a past sugar-fiend, a future reformed sweets enthusiast (fingers-crossed!) and presently somewhere in-between, but now just with better ingredients. Here you’ll find Super-Natural Nourishment in the form of...

Healthy strawberry milkshake

This super easy, super tasty strawberry milkshake is one of my absolute favourite go-to’s for a healthy and nourishing treat. It takes absolutely no time to whip up and it is made with ingredients that I personally always have in my kitchen, so when my dessert cravings kick in, then I know that I will always have the opportunity to make this pink beauty – haha that is if I can control myself from just going out and buying chocolate instead ;) You can find the recipe over on the Danish fashion magazine Costume’s website, where I each tuesday share a new healthy recipe: Find the recipe right here! The article is in Danish, but you can easily use an online...

The best (naughty) brownies with cream cheese // Enjoying life

Sponsored. This post is made in collaboration with Valio – lactose-free dairy products.  As you all know I try to eat healthy most of the time, but also believe that it is important to not be too strict and allow yourself to enjoy some of the less (or not at all) healthy treats every now and then as well. I rarely post those unhealthy treats on here, since my favourite indulgences are candy or chocolate and not homemade baked goods and such where I can share a recipe. However, my little sister (aka. roomie and recipe tester) is much more of a dessert fiend than I am and she has been begging me to make a “proper” dessert (haha as in not in any way healthified) for...

My go-to “snack attack” bliss balls – only 4 ingredients

These super simple bliss balls are one of my favorite go-to snacks, they are so quick and easy to make and you only need 4 ingredients, all of which are a staple in my kitchen, so I always have the ingredients to make these. I love to experiment with all kinds of superfoods and fancy ingredients, but sometimes I just want something nice and simple that I know will taste amazing and doesn’t take much time to make (plus these also save me some $$$, superfoods are expensive!!). However, if you are in the mood for some of those fancy smancy bliss balls instead, then I have plenty of those recipes as well, find my favorite ones right here! ;) I know...

Neapolitan ice cream smoothie

This three layered beauty is my take on a healthified and nourishing version of the neapolitan ice-cream. It might be a healthy version, but I promise you that it is still incredibly delicious and is such a great alternative to your regular ice-cream if you want to keep it healthy – haha sometimes you just need the real deal though ;) If you use frozen bananas and strawberries + only add very little milk then you get a thicker nice cream version that you can eat with a spoon and that is even closer to the original neapolitian ice cream. Oh and since this is meant to be a bit more of dessert’ish smoothie I have added a little liquid stevia and pure...

Apple rings with date caramel, peanut butter and vanilla cream

These super cute little apple rings are one of my go-to´s when I want an easy and healthy snack. Haha and I know they kinda look like donuts from above, but you’ll be disappointed if you expect anything even remotely donut-like ;) They are super tasty though, I love how the fresh crisp apple’s goes with the indulgent date caramel, peanut butter and vanilla cream and then there’s a little added crunch from the nuts, dark chocolate and raw coconut chips – so good!! I love making a big batch of date caramel to use for this (or just to dip apple wedges in when I’m lazy), to use in desserts, to top my oatmeal with etc. – seriously if you haven’t tried it,...

Summertime Sadness // My 12 favorite summery recipes

So summer is about to be over, only 7 more days of official summer left, it (obviously) happens every year and yet I am still never quite ready for summer to leave us. Yesterday was apparently the last proper summer day we will have here in Denmark and looking at the weather today I sadly think it is true. I feel like summer came and left so quick this year because I have been working up to 12 hours a day and haven’t had much time to just go outside and enjoy the weather. I have had the opportunity to play around with and enjoy lots of colorful summery food though and I plan on recreating a lot of these...

Easy peanut butter fudge

I know what you are thinking, yet another treat containing peanut butter?! Haha my obsession is not over yet, but I promise that the next healthified treat I post will not have any peanut butter in it whatsoever – I still have some peanut butter recipes planned for my fellow PB lovers though ;) This peanut butter fudge is beyond easy to make, I mean seriously this is probably the easiest treat I have ever made and it only takes about 10 minutes! It needs to set in the freezer for a while though. Ahh I am a little obsessed, haha I definitely have to try making this with all sorts of different flavors – I am thinking chocolate fudge...

7 healthified pancake recipes

Pancakes are on of my absolute favorite things to have for breakfast, I mean they are beyond tasty – almost like dessert for breakfast – and it just feels like such a little everyday luxury to have the time spoil myself with a nice big stack of healthified pancakes! I love the not so healthy ones as well, both the american style pancakes and especially the swedish style pancakes that are more traditional here in Denmark, but we usually serve those for dessert and not breakfast. It is way too rare that I actually take the time to make pancakes for breakfast though (especially considering that I work from home), but hopefully this post will remind me to make those oh so...

Granola madness // 7 healthified granola recipes

As you might have noticed I am such a big granola fan, I absolutely love to eat it on my smoothie bowls, my skyr/greek yoghurt or just as a cheeky little snack (it is way too tasty to leave alone) and I usually try to make a fresh batch every week. I really love making my own granola since it is super easy to make, it is much tastier than the store bought ones (in my opinion at least), you can get the exact flavor combos you want and you control exactly what goes in there = no added nasties and you can really cut back on all the fat and sugar that are usually in the store-bought ones. I have experimented...

Peanut butter nice cream with peanut butter granola

This peanut butter nice cream with peanut butter granola (yes my peanut butter obsession is real) is a new favorite breakfast of mine for those mornings where I want to spoil myself a little extra. Haha and let me just start by saying that I know that it is a quite sad looking nice cream I have here, I wasn’t satisfied with the first photos I took and then by the time I had taken these the nice cream was already quite melted. Maybe I should just call this a peanut butter/banana smoothie bowl instead, but either way, it tasted absolutely amazing and that’s all that matters right? :D Also, some of you have been asking me about my Q&A,...

Strawberry crunch breakfast parfait

It freaking snowed (!!) here in Copenhagen yesterday – uhm have nobody told the weather gods that it is supposed to be spring?! Stop playin and give me some sunshine already – so I decided to make myself a very summery breakfast in pure protest ;) Winter and snow IDFWU, Cali on the other hand, I am coming for you! Strawberry smoothie: 2 small bananas 1 cup frozen strawberries 2 tablespoons goji berries (you can buy them here) 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla powder 1/2 – 1 teaspoon baobab – optional (I use this one – affiliate link) Almond milk to blend Stevia to taste – optional 10 minute honey crunch granola: This is my go-to granola when I am in a hurry, I simply...

Friday Favorites // Lovely little things

Hello lovelies! When I last week announced that I would mix it up and change Friday Favorites to a more personal and candid type of post, then I of course had a lot of cool stuff planned that I wanted to share with you, but then I got sick and so I don’t really have that much to share from this week + I totally missed the friday deadline ;) Haha I really am the worst blogger! I did manage to take a couple of snaps for you though and just because it isn’t exactly friday anymore then I thought it would be a shame not to share them anyways. Since I always have a hard time making the friday...

Problem skin be gone // How I have been fighting breakouts and acne-prone skin

Hello lovelies, it is finally time for one of the most requested posts I have ever gotten! I have mentioned my skin problems a couple of times and since I have gotten an overwhelming amount of request from you lovelies to write more about it and especially to share what I have done to make it better, so I thought it was about time that I wrote a full post on it. As a teenager I struggled with problem skin, but I went on the pill (a special brand to deal with acne) and while I was on it I seriously had the perfect skin (hence the picture above, haha this is my goal, this is what I want to get back to...

Find the peanut butter granola recipe right here!

Peanut butter granola

I have recently discovered that I actually like peanut butter after years and years of avoiding it like the plague. The first time I tasted peanut butter it was one of those cheap junk versions with lots of added nasties (and probably not too many peanuts) and I just hated the flavor and texture, it felt like it was growing in my mouth. I still remember the experience and flavor all too well and so I didn’t eat it again for years. However, last month I decided to give it another try and this time I bought an organic one with nothing but peanuts and a little sea salt and as it turns out I actually like it!! Haha I am stupidly excited...

Friday Favorites // Healthy snack ideas

Nutty granola bites with seeds and dried fruit by yours truly – find the recipe right here! Hello lovelies! I know I am a day late with this weeks Friday Favorites, but my sister came home really ill yesterday, so I got a bit distracted and forgot to post this. If you have any tips on how to cure what seems to be a mix of the flu and a stomach flu, then please let me know, she is not feeling very well right now :/ I really hope I won’t catch it as well. ..but back to my Friday Favorites!! This week it is all about healthy snacks and I have found some super tasty looking recipes that I want...

Friday Favorites // CAKE!

No-bake chocolate cake coconut, cashew cream and fresh berries – find the recipe right here! Hello lovelies, I have some good news – Friday Favorites are back and they are back for good!! I started started Friday favorites as a way to go through my archives and show you some of my favorite recipes from the blog, but since I haven’t been blogging that long I quickly started to run out of recipes and Friday Favorites came to a natural end. I really loved the whole idea behind the posts where I would gather a collection of recipes all with a common denominator to tie them together. You lovelies definitely seemed to love them as well, which is why I am now bringing back,...

“Ferrero rocher” bliss balls with toasted hazelnuts and cacao

Ohh today is the last day of 2014, which means that this will also be my very last post in 2014 and I couldn’t think of a better way to end this years blogging. These indulgent “ferrero rocher” bliss balls with toasted hazelnuts and cacao taste absolutely amazing and I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like them – even my super picky and anti-health/raw food sister loves them! These are quite similar to the recipe for my chocolate hazelnut “nutella” balls, but I have made some adjustments and these also have a hazelnut core adding some extra crunch. If you are still looking for a new years treat to serve tonight, then these could definitely be a good option :) You can find...

Caramel date paste

Christmas is getting so close and I am super excited! I cannot wait to spend time with my family and celebrate christmas with lots of good food and gifts – I am pretty much like a 5 year old when it comes to christmas presents, haha I just can’t help it! I absolutely love both giving and receiving presents! :D What I love even more about christmas is all the good food, I am such a foodie and there is nothing better than indulging in lots of treats and traditional danish christmas food! I love to mix in some of my healthier treats as well though and this super easy date paste is definitely a new favorite of mine. It taste just like a...

Healthified no-bake brownie bites

I have been so excited to share this brownie recipe with you as it is one of my new favorite desserts! These brownie bites are completely nut-free, dairy-free + they contain no flour or refined sugar either! :D I think it will be my new go-to dessert when having people over, since it taste so indulgent that no one will know that it is actually a healthified version of brownies, which perfect if your friends or family aren’t quite onboard with raw and healthified desserts yet. I am serving them for my parents and sister tonight along with some homemade vanilla ice-cream (first timing making it on my own, fingers crossed that it turns out well!) and fresh strawberries, yuuum! Brownie bites: 1.5...

Friday favorites // Treats and desserts

Chocolate hazelnut “nutella” balls – recipe here! Hello lovelies! It is friday yet again, which means that it is time for another “Friday favorites” post and this time it will be about healthy treats and desserts! I have been experimenting with two different kinds of dessert today and I cannot wait to share the recipes with you next week, but until then let me share my favorite treat and dessert recipes so far. Healthified cookie dough bliss balls

Hello lovelies, I hope you are having an amazing weekend? I am not feeling too well so I am just relaxing on my couch with lots of tea, blankets and candles while watching Harry Potter and stuffing my face with these tasty cookie dough bliss balls. Haha if I wasn’t feeling ill this would pretty much be what a perfect evening looks like to me – yeess super geek over here ;) I found the recipe for the cookie dough on Solveig’s blog Gluten Free Vegan Girl and I just love it so much that I had to share it with you guys. The cookie dough is so good that my chocolate hazelnut “nutella” balls have gotten some serious competition for the spot as my favorite...

Friday Favorites // Healthy parfaits

Raspberry parfait with honey toasted muesli and fresh berries – details here! Happy Halloween lovelies!! I wish we were celebrating it here in Denmark, I am seriously considering going to the states next year in October just to be able to experience some proper Halloween celebrations! But today is not just Halloween, it is also friday which means that it is time for my `Friday favorites´ and this time it will be all about healthy parfaits. Parfaits are one of my favorite things to make for breakfast when I have a little extra time, they are so filling and super tasty as well, it almost feels like eating dessert and if you make them right they can even be all healthy as well. In...

Raw lemon bites with coconut and baobab

I am so into making raw treats lately, I love that they are so healthy and easy to make and yet they still taste absolutely amazing! I have been creating so many new recipes these past two weeks and my tiny freezer is just filled with all kinds of raw treats – which means that I have been making quite a lot, because usually I eat them faster than I make them ;) One of my newest creations are these cute little lemon bites, I love how fresh they are compared to my usual chocolate/caramel treats and the sweet taste of the coconut goes so well with the sour taste of the lemon. I added baobab powder to give an extra vitamin C boost...

Friday Favorites // Healthy snacks

Date snack bars – find the recipe here! Hello Lovelies, it is friday yet again which means that it is time for another `Friday Favorites´ and this time it will be all about healthy snacks! I am pretty much always hungry and always snacking so it is important to me to have healthy snack options available or else I know I will cave and settle for the less (or not at all) healthy option. I have gathered some of my favorite healthy snack recipes for you – some are the kind that needs to be enjoyed right away while others are perfect to prepare beforehand, so you always have healthy snacks to bring with you to school, work etc. You can find the...

Friday Favorites // Healthified classics

Spicy falafel burger – find the recipe here! Hello lovelies, it is time for another `Friday Favorites´ and this week it is dedicated to healthified classics. I absolutely love burgers, fries pizzas etc. and I gladly indulge in them every now and then, but since they are not exactly super healthy or nutritious I am a big fan of experimenting with healthified versions as well. I know you guys are big fans of these healthified classics too because none of my other posts have anywhere near as many views, so I think it is time to bring back some old favorites from the archives – you can find the links underneath the pictures, enjoy! Broccoli crust pizza – find the recipe here! Healthy, fluffy pancakes – find the recipe here!...

Raw apple nachos

This messy treat is a new favorite of mine, I love the mix of the fresh crisp apples and the more indulgent and heavy chocolate and caramel sauce, such a perfect combo! The best part is that it is actually all healthy – in moderation of course – and completely raw! I know I am yet again abusing food terminology a bit with this one, but “apple nachos” is what I have seen variations of this snack called everywhere else, so I am just going to roll with it ;) As the name might seem a bit misleading let me just make it clear that there is no cheese involved in the making of these raw nachos, it is simply apple slices drizzled...

Superfood Sunday // Goji berries

Hello lovelies, it is sunday once again which means that it is time for `Superfood Sunday´ and yet another post on one of my favorite superfoods – this week it will be all about goji berries! If the term superfood is new to you I would recommend reading my first post in the series, which focuses on superfoods in general – find it right here. Also make sure to check out my previous posts on chia seeds, maca, blueberries and broccoli. Pancake breakfast pizzas topped with goji berries – recipe here! Goji berries, also known as wolfberries, are red berries that origin from the Himalayan Mountains and even though the berry is quite new to the western countries, it has been known and consumed for its nutritional and medicinal benefits in China...

Tips and tricks to staying healthy while living a busy life

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!” – Benjamin Franklin This time last year was one of the most busy periods of my life and while I am fortunately not in that super stressful and time-strapped situation anymore, I would like to share some of the things that made it possible for me to keep up with my healthy lifestyle in a situation where I only had very limited time, energy and money to spend on my meals. If you keep nutritious and healthy food in the house then that is what you will eat. It is super important to take the time to go grocery shopping and fill your fridge and cupboards with healthy, nourishing food. When I am busy I prefer...

Light and summery dessert bowls

I originally made these little summery bowls for breakfast a while back, but I have since been serving them as a light and healthy alternative to dessert, which has been perfect in the heatwave since I have not been craving anything too heavy. Tropical dessert bowl: Skyr/greek yoghurt Banana, sliced Pineapple, chopped Raw coconut chips Muesli – I used a honey toasted one for a little extra sweetness Optional – a little honey or agave to mix with the skyr/greek yoghurt Chocolate/hazelnut/strawberry bowl: Skyr/greek yoghurt A little acacia honey or agave Strawberries, sliced Banana, sliced Chopped dark chocolate (preferably at least 70% cacao) Chopped toasted hazelnuts

Healthy lunch box ideas pt. 2

The first post in this series of healthy lunch box ideas were one of the most popular on the blog (you can find it here!), so I thought it was about time to bring you part two as promised! I only rarely bring lunch with me, but when I do I prefer to make it the night before to save time – this lunch is perfect for that as you can easily make the salad the night before (I would recommend adding the strawberries and the dressing in the morning though) and the chocolate hazelnut “nutella” balls can be made beforehand as well – you can even make a large batch and keep them in the freezer so you’re always well prepared. Strawberry/asparagus...

Berry’licious summer parfait

Berry season is finally here! It is my favorite time of the year and even though I live in the city without a garden I’m fortunate to have a family with a garden full of berries! I am visiting my parents at the moment and I’ve already picked insane amounts of berries – haha it feels so strange to get them for free and in almost infinite amounts when I’m used to paying a fortune for a tiny box in the supermarket! Most of them I just eat as they are (haha and when picking them I seem to eat more than I put in the bucket), but I love to find new ways to use them as well. This little summery...

Happy Easter!

Hi lovelies, just stopping by to wish you all happy easter! I hope you are having an amazing time with lots of good food and easter chocolate – haha I know I am! I will never get too old to make my parents buy me a giant easter egg ;) During easter I always go to stay with my family and I don’t worry too much about eating healthy, but I do like to make sure I get some proper nutrients in between all the chocolate eating ;) A great way to do so is by drinking smoothies, they’re so easy to make and jam-packed with nutrients. This smoothie is actually secretly a green smoothie as I added spinach, but...

Superfood Sunday // Chia seeds

Hi lovelies, are you ready for Superfood Sunday? In case you didn’t see this post last Sunday, ‘Superfood Sunday’ is a new category on the blog where I each Sunday will introduce you to one of my favorite superfoods, write about its benefits, share recipes using the particular superfood and so much more. Last Sunday I wrote a post on superfoods in general so if you are new to the term I would recommend you read that post first :) Todays Superfood Sunday will be all about chia seeds – one of my absolute favorite superfoods! Add chia seeds to your smoothies and smoothie bowls – recipes here, here and here! Now, what exactly are chia seeds? Chia are small edible seeds...

The best kind of mornings

My little sister came to stay with me for a couple of days in the beginning of last week, so on tuesday I decided to skip class, sleep in and make a nice breakfast for us to eat under snuggly blankets while watching our favorite TV shows. I made chocolate pancakes, strawberry/banana/vanilla smoothies and a fruit platter. I love lazy mornings like that < 3 Pancakes: I used the same pancake recipe that I already posted here (click) and then just added some chopped dark chocolate to the pancake batter. Chocolate sauce: My sister was getting a bit impatient (haha, sorry Laui) so instead of making my own I just melted some store bought dark chocolate,  but let me share a recipe...
